Summer Break

Imagine if Laguna Beach had been on TV this summer instead of nearly ten years ago, and rather than following the drama surrounding LC, Lo, and Stephen (Steeee-phen!) on-screen, we could also see it unfold in real-time on Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and Vine. That's exactly what @SummerBreak is going for. The reality show follows nine teenagers who are enjoying their last summer before starting college—but instead of watching it unfold on a typical weekly 30-minute TV slot, fans can follow along 24 hours a day via social media, with the addition of daily 30-second webisodes and weekly recaps that clock in under 5 minutes. Bite-size entertainment—what's not to love? Like every other teen you know, the cast will be constantly tuned into Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, Hootsuite, Vine, and Youtube—sponsor AT&T has made sure they have 'round-the-clock access to viewers. Another thing that sets this reality show apart from others? Because it's filmed in real time, there are no fabricated story lines. You can't get much more real than that! We talked to Clara, one of the adorable stars, about why @SummerBreak is so newsworthy and what she hopes fans learn from the show.
